Holiday Show/Competitor Exhibition

The Lake Region Figure Skating Club will be having their annual Holiday Show/Competitor Exhibition in December at the Burdick Arena. We encourage all skaters to participate but it is not a requirement. We hold this exhibition each year so that our Basic Skills skaters may showcase all that they are learning during the season. This exhibition also allows our competitors a chance to perform their competition routines in front of a crowd before heading off to their first competition. Basic Skills costumes will be kept very simple and generally just Holiday-themed attire is the only requirement.

Annual Ice Show

The Lake Region Figure Skating Club holds an annual ice show in March each year. It is the highlight of our season and we encourage all skaters to be a part of the show, however it is not a requirement. Practice generally starts towards the end of February or early March. Additional costs associated with the show include costumes and ice show tickets.

Parent volunteers are needed in multiple areas in order for the show to be presented including costumes, set and props, lights, tickets, programs, group parents, picture day, music, announcers, etc. Each family is expected to volunteer in one or more of these areas in order for the show to be successful and enjoyed by all. Please check the Bulletin Board at the rink often for Ice Show Updates and Information and Volunteer Sign-Up Sheets.

Because the annual ice show is the club’s biggest fundraiser, we do ask each family to pre-sell 10 ice show tickets. Advance tickets are $6.00 each, $7.00 at the door.

An Endowment Fund was set up to assist the Lake Region Figure Skating Club with financial support to provide for a professional skating instructor. The club receives only the interest from the fund quarterly. Therefore as the fund continues to grow, the benefits increase. In exchange for a financial contribution to the Endowment Fund of a minimum of $30.00, you will receive 6 ice show tickets. Please contact any Board Director if you would like to make an Endowment contribution at any time.

Please see your current Membership Handbook for additional information regarding Ice Show Groups and Numbers.
